That's a good question.

I'm assuming we are talking about mass scale? Why not a little bit of all of them? I don't know too much about geothurmal, but from what I know, all but nuclear have no harmful pollutants. Heck, there is even technology being produced that removes the CO2 emmisions from coal, in hopes of making it less harmful.

Dispite your views on global warming, you have to admit that pollution is nasty.

Leave nuke out, keep the rest.

Yes, pollution is bad, and for those with lung diseases like athsma, its dangerous.

Please don't criticize me for this one; I like nuclear the best. It gives off no air pollution, and when handled properly (that is, not the way the soviets did)
it can actually be pretty green. I like geothermal and hydroelectric the least, as you need to destroy a geyser to make geothermal, and dam up a lush valley to do hydroelectric. Solar is ok, but is best individual houses rather than large plants (i like the idea of getting paid for the extra energy that will actually go into the grid) , as you need to destroy a large area of natural beauty to employ it in a plant. The only down to having it on your house is that the panels are expensive. Another down is that the waste from making the photovoltaic panels is toxic to the environment, but I guess that isn't any worse than nuclear waste. Wind isn't so bad, but you have to have many large wind farms to have much effect.

My conclusion is that a mix of nuclear, wind, and solar on houses is best. :D

I won't get into the pollution caused by producing uranium and dealing with the deadliest waste on earth.

However, solar panels on individual buildings is the best way to deal with the energy crisis. Solar fields are problematic, and if you look at the Federal Registry you will see an announcement soon about a comprehensive Environmental Impact Statement being developed to consider the appropriate and inappropriate places to put wind and solar fields on BLM land.
For you Czar the meeting is in Denver on June 24 at 6 p.m. Date may change though. Sorry Chicken, no meeting in Texas the closest is probably in Albuquerque.

id say nuke is the best large scale in the immediate future, we need more efficient ways with all the others.

Problem is, nuke is not efficient to build--too costly, takes too long. And then there is the waste which your great, great, great, great, great grandchildren will still have to deal with.

OMFG, you are in my head. Warning, Chick does hack---into our brains.
I just confirmed a visit to a Maglev company for a briefing on July 9.
